Scientific research is essential for protecting public health. However, many important questions remain unanswered, particularly in the field of textile hygiene. Mattresses, pillows, bedding, and other textiles used in hotels, healthcare facilities, nursing homes, and public accommodations can harbor dust, allergens, microorganisms, and other biological contaminants. Independent scientific data on these issues is still limited.
THMS® International Association is committed to closing this knowledge gap through independent, non-profit research. Our mission is to investigate biological contamination of textiles, develop practical hygiene standards, and translate scientific findings into effective measures that improve health protection.
Support from donors, foundations, public institutions, and corporate partners enables us to:
conduct independent research projects;
carry out pilot studies in Germany and internationally;
collaborate with universities, laboratories, and scientific institutions;
develop innovative inspection and documentation methods;
publish research findings for the benefit of science and society;
raise public awareness of textile hygiene and infection prevention.
Every contribution helps advance research that benefits not only individual organizations but also society as a whole. By supporting THMS®, you help generate scientific evidence, improve hygiene standards, and strengthen preventive public health measures.
Together, we can create safer environments, promote healthier living conditions, and contribute to the prevention of infections through evidence-based textile hygiene.
Thank you for supporting research, innovation, and public health.
